설악산은 남한의 금강산이라고 불리는 한국 제1의 비경이며 높이 1,780m로서 남한에서 세 번째로 높은 산이다. 오랜 침식작용으로 아름다운 기암괴석이 많으며 옥련폭포, 천당폭포, 비룡폭포 등 경관이 수려하고 신령스러워 우리나라의 삼신산 중의 하나이다.

Seoraksan(mountain) is considered to be Korea No.1 scenic spot. This beautiful place is also known as the Geumgangsan of South Korea. With the height of 1,780 meters, it is the third tallest mountain in South Korea. The erosion of the mountain over time has sculpted the rocks and stones of Seoraksan into fantastic shapes. In Korean mythology, Seoraksan is one of the three mountains where the gods live. This mountain is blessed with beautiful and picturesque places such as Okryeon Falls, Cheondang(heaven) Falls, and Biryong(flying dragon) Falls, all of which add to the beauty of the mountain.
